Francis M. Ewart, an aged and high respected citizen, died at his home near Carmichaels, Monday, August 13, aged 81 years of a complication of diseases. He was a retired farmer and had been constable of Cumberland Township for more than a score of years. Mr. Ewart was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Johnson Roach of Ceylon; Jacob of Stringville, IA; Oliver of Carmichaels; O. C. Mundell of South Brownsville; Mrs. Harvey Maple of Amith; Arleigh of Carmichaels. One son, Samuel was killed in action in France. Funeral services will be held in the Glades Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev.E. V. Bevier of Smithfield. Interment in the Glades Cemetery.
