William Scharenbroch, Sr., 78, of School Hill, a retired Town of Meeme farmer, died Thursday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital. Mr. Scharenbroch had been brought to the hospital after becoming ill at home Wednesday.
A native of Meeme, he was born Aug. 17, 1887, a son of the late Christ and Mary Magdalene Herr Scharenbroch. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School at School Hill and married Mary Miller, also of Meeme, in Holy Trinity Church, Nov. 15, 1915. Following marriage the couple farmed near School Hill until retiring and moving into the village in 1949. They celebrated their golden wedding in October 1965. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard Schad (Dorothy) of Menomonee Falls, Mrs. Eugene Schnell (Bernice), of town of Schleswig and Mrs. Terence Owens (Betty Mae), Chilton; eight sons, Herbert, Francis, Alphons, Simon and Anthony, all of R. 1, Kiel, Bernard of Lebanon, Pa., Raymond of Kiel and William Jr., Sheboygan Falls; 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a brother, Peter of St. Nazianz.
