Teckla Mallmann, 88, of Calumet Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, formerly of Charlestown, died on Friday, July 31, 1998, at the nursing home.
She was born Dec. 14, 1909, in Hayton, daughter of the late Wendelin & Anna (Woelfel) Schierl. Teckla married Joseph Mallmann on June 20, 1944, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Charlestown. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1956. She farmed with her husband in School Hill until his death. She then moved to Sheboygan and worked for St. Nicholas Hospital for 25 years in the housekeeping department and for the past eight years was a resident of Homestead.
She had been a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
She is survived by two sisters, Angela Wartgow of Janesville and Genevieve Horst of Chilton; a sister-in-law, Romilda Schierl; also many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, John, on April 18, 1956; five sisters, Olive Marcell, Tillie Schierl, Ermina Heetel, Loretta Feldhausen and Lydia Schneider; and one brother, Leander Schierl.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill with the Rev. Gary New officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery on Wednesday. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday form 3 p.m. until the hour of service. Wieting Funeral Home of Chilton is assisting the family.
