Raymond J. Koenig, 65, of Route 1, Newton, died Sunday morning, December 2, at
St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been a patient for the last
month.
Concelebrated funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic
Church, School Hill, following brief family rites at 10 a.m. at Meiselwitz
Funeral Home, Kiel. Rev. Reginald Schrimpf and Rev. Bernard Binversie will
officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Koenig was born September 20, 1919, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late
Joseph and Martha Phillip Koenig. He attended St. Fidelis Catholic School, Town
of Meeme. He married Mathilda Faust on November 20, 1943, at St. Fidelis Catholic
Church. After marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Meeme until his retirement
in 1981. Mr. Koenig was also employed at A.H. Stock Manufacturing in Newton for
15 years and also at A.A. Laun Furniture Company, Kiel. He was a member of Holy
Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill, a member of the Men's Club of the Church
and a member of Manitowoc County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Mathilda; nine daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Mary Jane)
Jacoby of Shebygan, Mrs. Bernard (Elaine) Shesta of rural Cleveland, Miss Susan
and Miss Grace at home, Mrs. David (Eileen) Lallensack, Mrs. Tom (Patricia)
Schneider, Mrs. Robert (Rachel) Schneider of rural Newton, Mrs. Robert (Clara)
Salm of School Hill, and Miss Julian Koenig of Howards Grove; a sister, Mrs.
Walter (Marion) Brendel of Sheboygan, and 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by a sister.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, after 4 p.m. Tuesday where a
wake service will be at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made in Mr. Koenig's name.
