Dorothy E. Halbach, 75, of 302 Paine Street, Kiel, formerly of School Hill, died Monday morning, October 15, 1990 at her home of a heart attack. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am Friday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, with the Rev. Thomas Leannah, Pastor, officiating, preceded by brief family rites at 10 am at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, School Hill.
She is the former Dorothy Klapperich, born March 9, 1915 at Kloten, Calumet county, daughter of the late John and Magdalena Portmann Klapperich. She attended school in Marytown. On April 17, 1933 she married Edward Halbach at St. Mary Catholic church, Marytown. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1983. The couple
farmed in the Town of Meeme all their lives until moving to Kiel in 1986. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and a lifelong member of the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; one daughter, Mrs. Edith (Kenneth) Rabe of rural Kiel; five grandchildren, Dennis, Randy, Gary, Todd, Gregg Rabe; four great grandchildren, Tim, Nicholas, Corey and Joey; one sister, Mrs. Delphine (Barney) Schmitz of rural Kiel; one step sister, Mrs. Violet (Wilmer) Wettstein of Chilton; one sister-in-law, Julianna (Norbert ) Klapperich of rural Chilton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one great grandchild.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, 4-9 pm Thursday and Friday from 8 am until the time of services. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
