Edward M. Halbach, age 84, formerly of Kiel, and a resident of Calumet Homestead,
New Holstein, since October of 1990, died Saturday evening, February 27, 1993, at
Calumet Memorial Medical Center, Chilton, where he was a patient for one and a
half days.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church,
Kiel, with the Rev. Raphael Birringer officiating. Burial will be in the Holy
Trinity Cemetery, School Hill.
He was born September 2, 1908, in the Town of Brothertown, Calumet County. Son of
the late Anton and Anna Thelen Halbach. He attended grade school in Brothertown and
Marytown. On April 17, 1933, he married Dorothy Klapperich, at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Marytown. He farmed in the Town of Meeme (School Hill) all his life retiring
in 1966 when they moved to Kiel. His wife Dorothy preceded him in death on October 15,
1990. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith and Kennth (sic) Rabe, rural Kiel; five grandsons,
Dennis (Debbie) Rabe, Randy (Jennifer) Rabe, Gary (Doris) Rabe, Todd (Carla) Rabe,
and Gregg Rabe; five great grandchildren, Tim, Nicholas, Corey, Joey, and Adam; one
sister, Augusta Thielman, Chilton. He was preceded in death by four brothers, two
sisters, one great grandchild.
Friends may call a (sic) St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel from 10 a.m. Tuesday
until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his name. Meiselwitz
Funeral Home in Kiel is in charge of arrangements.
