Francis W. Deehr, age 69, of Kiel, formerly of School Hill, died Thursday morning,
February 2, 1995, at Willowdale Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 6, 1995, at Holy Trinity
Catholic Church, School Hill. Rev. Reginald Schrimpf and Deacon James Steffen will
officiate, preceded by brief family rites at 9:45 a.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt
Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Frances was born July 26, 1925, in Osman, son of the late William and Nellie Pollard
Deehr. He attended St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman. On April 7, 1945, he married
Shirley A. Schwab at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. His wife, Shirley
preceded him in death on November 2, 1994. Francis was employed at Lake to Lake and
Kohler Company for several years and the couple farmed in the School Hill area and
owned and operated Deehr's Bar in School Hill from 1969 to 1993. Francis was a
member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill.
Survivors include six children, Barbara (Duane) Kessler, St. Ann, Daniel (Aggie),
Cleveland, Jeffery (Barb), Sarasota, Fla., Annette (Paul) Roeder, Torreon, Mexico,
Justin, Milwaukee, Leon (Julie) Sarasota, Fla.; a very special family friend, Kevin
Voland; seven grandsons; one grand-daughter, two step-grandson; two brothers, Joseph
(Dorothy), Manitowoc, James (Arleine), Newton; one sister, Loyola (Michael) Ceserac,
Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, twin sons, David and
Richard.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel from 4-9 p.m. Sunday,
February 5, 1995, and on Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. The rosary
will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in his name.
