Mathias Binversie, 78, of Rt. 1, Kiel, retired Town of Meeme farmer and a World War I veteran, died Tuesday at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. The Rev. Regnale
Schrimpf will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Binversie was born Dec. 10, 1895, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late William and Regina Schuler Binversie. He married Margaret Endries June 15, 1920,
at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The couple located on a farm in Meeme. He retired in 1960. His wife preceded him in death July 30, 1960. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Name Society of the church and Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Survivors include four sons, August, of Albuquerque, N.M., Ralph, of Valders and Salvador and Urban, of School Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Milton (Sally) Bruns, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Richard (Hedy) Vogel, of Green Bay and Mr. John (Ester) Goehring, of rural Valders; two brothers, Nick and Conrad, of rural Kiel; six sisters, Sister Eulogia, SES, of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Rose Shad, Mrs. Angeline Koenig, Mrs. Rudolph Kirsch, Mrs. Raymond Steffen and Miss Clara Binversie, of rural Kiel. Preceding him in death were a son, Linus, in November, 1973, a daughter and son in infancy, two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home where wake memorial services will be at 8 p.m.
