SAEGERTOWN — David William (Bill) Acker, 71, of 19967 Grange Center Rd., Saegertown, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at home.
Bill was born in Meadville on May 10, 1941, a son of the late Neil and Suzie A. (Blystone) Acker.
After several years of service, Bill retired as restaurant manager from the Hilton Hotel, located just outside of New York City. He had previously been employed by a record company in Edison, N.J., to where he had been transferred from Erie. In his earlier years he was employed by the former American Viscose.
He was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Bill entered active duty on Jan. 2, 1964, and served his country honorably until his discharge on Dec. 11, 1967.
Bill is survived by a brother, Robert (Bob) E. Acker and his wife, Cathy, of Saegetown; a nephew, Larry Acker; a niece, Rebecca Donofrio; a grandniece, Alexandra; and two grandnephews, Vincent and Colin.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
