Joan "Joni" Brauneis, 79, of Moline, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her home.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 18, at 10 a.m., at the Aledo Cemetery.
Memorials made be made to the American Cancer Society.
Joan M. Boultinghouse was born in Monmouth, on Oct. 27, 1932, to John Lyle and Louise Anderson Boultinghouse.
She spent her early years in Aledo and moved to Chicago in 1944. On Sept. 9, 1961, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Park Ridge, Ill., she married Kenneth Brauneis, who preceded her in death.
Joan worked as a secretary for East Moline Metal Products, retiring in 1994. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors are son, Daniel John (Qing) Brauneis; daughter, Allison (Paul) Brown; granddaughter, Christi Hepworth; and grandsons, Patrick Brauneis and Michael Williams.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Arthur Brauneis.
