Charles H. Allen, 55, of 322 Sherman, Nashville, died Tuesday morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital. He was born November 6, 1913 in Alba the son of Charles and Anna Jensen Allen. He was a former Ionia resident.

He was married to the former Daisy Palmatter who survives. Also surviving are three sons, James, Otto and Elmer all of Nashville; two daughters, Betty Allen of Ionia, Bonnie Allen of Hastings; stepmother Mrs. Ethel Allen of Ionia; two half sisters Mrs. Anna Skinner of Wyoming, Mrs. Dorothy Patrick of Ionia.

He was a veteran of World War II, having received the Purple Heart and Victory medals.

Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Myers funeral home. Fr. Ronald Schneider will officiate and burial will be at Easton Cemetery.
