Rose (Rooney) Lynch, 84, of Rutland, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2011. She was the loving wife of Frank Howard Lynch who predeceased her in 2005. Mrs. Lynch was born May 13, 1926, in Orange, N.J. She was the daughter of the late James Rooney and Catherine (Bohan) Rooney. She raised six children before serving for 15 years at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves a sister-in-law, Helen B. Lynch, and five of her six children, James and his wife Diane of Stratford, Conn., Carol and her husband Edward Lennig of West Hartford, Conn., David and his wife Heather of South Burlington, Vt., Barbara and her husband John Stewart of Rutland, Vt., and Dennis and his wife Lisa of Rutland, Vt. She was predeceased by her son, Frederick; her brothers, Frank and James, and sisters, Dorothy and Rita. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the caregivers at Our House who brought smiles to Mom's face in her last years. Services are private. The Ducharme Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
