Mrs. Mary Catherine Dum, aged 81 years, 6 months, 27 days, died at her home in Elliottsburg, Friday about 3 a. m. from the effects of a paralytic stroke from which she died inside of 15 minutes. A few days previous her health began failing, she was cheerful and could talk until stricken. Her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Rheam and husband had come March 30, to live with and care for her.
Mrs. Dum was a daughter of Wm. and Catherine Stone Fuller, of near Saville and was married to W. R. Dum, of Elliottsburg, who died 10 to 12 years ago. She is survived by the following children Mrs. Minnie Ricedorf of Marysville, Mrs. Amanda Ritter, of Carlisle, Jacob Dum, of near Bloomfield, Grace, Mrs. W. E. Rheam, of Iron Bridge; James Dum, of Elliottsburg; Josiah Dum, of Greenpark. A son A. B. Dum, of Elliottsburg, died and was buried March 15 less than a month ago. Two children died in infancy. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren and a brother Wm. Fuller of Ickesburg. One sister, Mrs. Geo. Stone, of Saville is deceased. She was a member of the Evangelical church of Elliottsburg and of the Sunday School where she will be missed and with her family and friends as well. Funeral services were held in the Evangelical church Monday, at 10 a. m., her pastor Rev. J. A. Corle officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Mack Gray, W. H. Gray, Joe Gell, C. R. Kretzing, B. F. Hubler, Isaiah Weaver.
