Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy Mortuary for Mrs. Belva M.E. Carson, 83, Academy Road, R.R. 1, Needham, who died Monday afternoon at Heritage Manor.

She had been a patient there two weeks and ill since March.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Howard officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. today.

A lifelong resident of the Boggstown area, in early life Mrs. Carson was a schoolteacher.

She was a member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association, Shelby County Country Club, Sugar Creek Better Homes and Garden Club and the Sugar Creek Extension Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Carson was born Oct. 20, 1898, in Boggstown, a daughter of Frank and Anna(Sandefur)Crosby. On March 19, 1925, in Greensburg, she was married to Ralph Carson, who died July 11, 1960.

Surviving are one son, John Carson, R.R. 1, Needham, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Two sisters, Mrs. Ada Updegraff and Mrs. Marie Bass preceded in death.
