Sister Prisca Zehren, age 92, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc died
Sunday, October 4, 1992 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 1992,
at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem will
officiate with burial in the Holy Family Cemetery.
The former Rose Zehren was born August 1, 1900, at Clintonville, Wis.,
daughter of the late Nicholas and Roseann Cavanaugh Zehren. She entered
the Convent in July 1915, and professed her vows in 1920. Sister earned
a B.A. Degree from Mount St. Mary, Los Angeles, Calif. and M.Ed. from
Marquette, University, Milwaukee. Sister Prisca served as a teacher at
Chilton, Clarks Mills, Kewaunee, Kaukauna, Waukesha, Sturgeon Bay,
Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Antigo, all in Wisconsin and Petoskey, Mich., Yuma,
Ariz., and Santa Barbara, Calif. She served as principal of Menominee
Catholic Central, Menominee, Mich., and Maria Reina, Lima, Peru. After
her retirement from active ministry, she was the coordinator of
retirement activities at the Motherhouse and Sacristan at San Damiano
Convent, Slinger, Wis. She retired to St. Rita Health Center in 1969.
She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a sister
and brother-in-law, Catherine and Leon McCandless, Manitowoc; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, on
Wednesday, October 7, 192, where a memorial service will be held at 7
p.m. at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
