Mrs. Margaret Schad passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her son, Joseph, town of Schleswig. Death was caused by heart failure. Mrs. Schad, nee Miss Margaret Stein, was born February 9, 1861, in the town of Meeme, and in 1881, she was married at the St. Fidelis church there to Anton Schad of the town of Schleswig. After their marriage the couple moved to the homestead farm, where Mrs. Schad passed away. Her husband preceded her in death in 1929.
Survivors are seven children, Peter and Alois of School Hill; Joseph at home, Mrs. Peter Anhalt, Mrs. Ambrose Knier of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Joseph Scharenbroch, of School Hill, Mrs. John Scharenbroch, Alverno, Wis.; forty-four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two brothers, Peter Stein of Spring Valley, and Adam Stien of School Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Koenig and Mrs. George Schwoerer, who live near St. Nazianz.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at Holy Trinity church at School Hill. The Rev. Ansgar, S.D.S., will officiate and interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery.
