SIMON ANDERSON DEAD

Simon Anderson, an aged resident of Rock County, died Monday morning at 4 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ole Hoiland, in Magnolia township. Funeral services conducted by Rev. L.P. Lund, were held Wednesday, at 12 o'clock from the Hoiland home and at 1:30 o'clock from the Synod church in this city, and the body was laid at rest in the Synod cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born on the 7th day of April, 1827, at Christiansand (?), Norway. On June 29th, 1863, he was united in marriage at that place to Miss Steidor Tobiasdatter. To this union were born seven children, five of whom, with the aged wife, survive. They are Tobias S.; Andrew S. and A.H. Anderson, Mrs. Ole Hoiland and Mrs. Ole Blinsmon, all of Rock county. Other surviving relatives are two sisters residing in Norway and twenty-nine grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson came to this country from Norway in May, 1889, and settled in Rock county. During the following three years made their home with their son, T.S. Anderson, and for the last twenty-one years had resided with Mr. and Mrs. Hoiland.

deceased had been in poor health part of the time since emigrating to this country, but his last illness dates back about three months. Ten day previous to his death he suffered an attack of pneumonia, which was the direct cause of death.

While Mr. Anderson was not widely known, those who were included in his circle of acquaintances held him in high esteem and admired him for the consistent portrayal of the Christian faith he professed.
