Mr. Curtis William Jeffries of Greensburg, son of the late George William Jeffries and Tura Catherine Davis Jeffries, was born on September 29, 1915, in Hart County, and departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Medco Center of Campbellsville. He was 93 years, seven months and 18 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 60 plus years and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a farmer, former school bus driver for the Green County School System and also did construction work.

He united in marriage to Alma Lucinda Bishop on February 14, 1937, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Danny Lee Jeffries of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet Sue and George Laramore of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Gregory Forrest "Greg" Laramore and his wife Charlotte of Greensburg, George Kent Laramore and his wife Erin of Ohio, Lisa Jill Laramore-Byrne of Campbellsville, and Jonathan David "Jon" Jeffries of Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Curtis Laramore and his wife Tara, Natalie Sarae Fox and her husband Brandon, and Paislee Laramore Byrne; three great-great grandchildren, Cambria Dae Laramore, Nathan Conner Laramore and Cameron Lee Sawyer; two brothers, Wayne Jeffries of Greensburg and Elmo Jeffries of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jeffries was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Glen Jeffries; a grandson, Jason Lee Jeffries; three brothers, Leonard Jeffries, Ralph Jeffries and Kenneth Jeffries; three sisters, Sybil Pepper, Alma Moran and Marcella Moran.

The funeral services for Mr. Curtis William Jeffries were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial that followed in the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlos Compton, Ronda Arnett and Bro. Trent Davis officiated. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or Kosair Children's Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Jon Jeffries, Greg Laramore, Kent Laramore, Nathan Laramore, John Jeffries, Jerry Bagby and David Jeffries.
