Helen "Honey" Louise Thomas, 94, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born in Clearfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Georgianna (Patton) Payton and Allen Payton.

Helen retired from Flexsteel Furniture Company in the 1990s. She volunteered for Toys for Tots with the Boys Club of Lancaster. Helen was a member of Bright Side Baptist Church where she worked with the Kitchen Committee. One of the highlights of her life was a trip to Hawaii. She was an avid gardener and loved working on her roses and vegetables. Helen will be dearly missed by her family, especially during the holidays.

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Anna Mary Betts, and Renee Thomas Glover; her 13 grandchildren; her brother, Calvin Payton; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor S. Thomas; her two daughters, Rose Marie Thomas, and Helen P. Williams; her grandson, Allen Thomas, her great-grandson, Abijah Thomas, her four brothers and her three sisters.

A Home Going Service will be held at Bright Side Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, PA on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John A. Knight officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. at the church until the time of service. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 719 Highland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603.
