Oldest son of George Davidson and Mary Woods. Husband of Sarah Logan.

Samuel Davidson was born 1766 in Albermarle County, VA and died 12 Sep 1845 in Marion County, IL. He married Sarah Logan 15 Feb 1797 in Lincoln County, KY, daughter of John Logan and Ann McClure. Sarah was born 1780 in VA and died 7 Jan 1838 in Marion County, IL. Samuel was a veteran of the War of 1812 but did not fight the British, he fought the Indians.

Samuel and Sarah had 12 children: William Davidson, Elizabeth Davidson Weathers, John S. Davidson, Mariah Woods Davidson Jennings, George Davidson, Ann McClure Davidson Jennings, Sarah A. "Sallie" Davidson Carrigan Fulton Huff, Nancy J. Davidson Carrigan, Samuel Robert Davidson, and Susan Davidson Faridee, and two more who died in infancy.
