Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc..
She was born Elizabeth Weber on Sept. 22, 1906 in Manistique, Mich., daughter of the late Sebastian and Theresa Schweiger Weber. Sister Ethel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Norbert College, DePere, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minn. She entered the convent in 1920 and professed her vows in 1925. She is a member of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. Sister Ethel served as a teacher of primary grades at St. Mary, Rhinelander; St. John, Antigo; St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Joseph, Green Bay; St. Therese, Appleton; St. Joseph, Manitowoc; St. Mary, Delaware; SS Peter & Paul, Wellston, Ohio; Holy Family, Lindsay; Guardian Angels, West Point, Neb.; and St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill. She also served as a librarian in the Diocesan Office, Green Bay; Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha; Xavier High School, Appleton; Holy Family College, Manitowoc; St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill.; Holy Name of Escanaba, Mich. and performed various tasks at St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Mich. She retired to Holy Family Convent in 1992 and has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center since the summer of 1998..
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three sisters: Minnie Krammin, Allegan, Mich.; Josie Schnurer, Manistique, Mich.; Grace Gonyea, Morrison, Colo.; two brothers and two sisters-in-laws: Matthew and Frances Weber, Frank Weber and Evelyn Weber, all of Manistique, Mich.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive..
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday. .

Sr. M. Ethel (Elizabeth) Weber, OSF, 98, died May 13 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Sr. Weber served as a teacher in Wisconsin, Ohio, Nebraska and Illinois. In the Diocese of Green Bay she served at St. John, Antigo; St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Joseph, Green Bay; St. Therese, Appleton and St. Joseph, Manitowoc. She also served as a librarian in the Diocesan Office in Green Bay, at Xavier High School in Appleton and at Holy Family College, Manitowoc. Sr. Weber, a graduate of St. Norbert College, DePere and St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minn., retired to Holy Family Convent in 1992 and had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse since the summer of 1998. She is survived by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three sisters, Minnie Krammin, Allegan, Mich., Josie Schnurer, Manistique, Mich., and Grace Gonyea, Morrison, CO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Matthew and Frances Weber and Frank and Evelyn Weber, all of Manistique, Mich., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem, on May 17 at Holy Family Convent Chapel followed by burial in the Holy Family Cemetery.
