Sister M. Valerius, 77, of Holy Family Convent, Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 4 pm Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Rt. 1, Manitowoc. The Rev. Ronald T. Kirk, O. Praem., will officiate and burial will be in the convent cemetery.
Sister Valerius, nee Amelia Weber, was born July 13, 1892 at Tower City, N.D., daughter of the late John and Katherine Valerius Weber. She entered the convent in January, 1916 and professed her vows July 3, 1918. Sister Valerius was a homemaker and helped with the teaching at San Xavier Indian Mission, Tucson, Ariz., for eight years. Other assignments included caring for the sick at St. Joseph Home, West Point, Neb., and she spent the last 31 years at Holy Family Convent.
Survivors include two brothers, Fred Weber of Rice Lake, Wis., and Edward Weber of Escanaba, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Lewis Leibly of Milwaukee. Friends may call at the convent this Thursday evening and Friday until time of service.
Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
