DEER CREEK -- Lonnie V. Oller, 70, of 212 N. Mason St. died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 1992, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, where he had been a patient since Oct. 30. Born Nov. 1, 1922, in Kilbourne to John and Pearl Anderson Oller, he married Mildred V. Oller on Nov. 26, 1944, in St. Louis. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Carol) Watters of Washington; one brother, Riley of Kilbourne; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Verancia) Denton of San Jose and Helcian "Fern" Stout of Morton; and two granddaughters. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He worked in the shipping department for Caterpillar Inc.'s parts department in Morton for 31 years, retiring in May 1977. He also worked for the Deer Creek Streets and Water Department for many years. He was a dispatcher for Deer Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Deer Creek American Legion Post 1276. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ludwig- Rohrschneider Mortuary in Morton. The Rev. Danny Cox will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, where military services will be conducted by his American Legion Post. Memorials may be made to Deer Creek Fire and Rescue Squad.
