Sister Lucilla Verhaagh, 88, of Holy Family Convent, died Wednesday morning, January 24, 1990 at Holy Family Convent. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 27, 10:30 am at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be presided by Rev. Robert B. Reppen O.Praem. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.
Sister was born January 3, 1902 at DePere, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Mary ?? Verhaagh. The former Anna Verhaagh entered the convent in 1922 and professed her vows in 1925. Sister Lucilla served as housekeeper in St. Ann, Menominee, Michigan, St. Joseph, Rice Lake, Wisconsin, St. Francis, Manistique, Michigan; St. Peter, Middleton, Wisconsin, St. Anthony, Neopit, Wisconsin. Sister was a laundress at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville, Ohio and at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Sister resided at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, Wisconsin since ??.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; four sisters, Sister Stella Margaret Verhaagh, OSF of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Mrs. Mary ?? of Green Bay, Mrs. Martha ?? of Green Bay, Mrs. D? Vanden Langenberg of Green Bay; a brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Katherine Verhaagh of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Friends may call at the Holy Family Convent on Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm where a prayer service will be held at 7 pm at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
