Coreen Barfuss Alder, 72, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her home in Preston. She was born Nov. 17, 1939, in Soda Springs, Idaho, the daughter of Oliver Fredrick and Cora Lester Barfuss. She married T. Bruce Alder on Aug. 19, 1960, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served as Primary president. She enjoyed gardening. She worked at the Preston Livestock Auction, the Smithfield Livestock Auction and the Plaza Motel. Her favorite pastime was supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities - sports, music, etc.

She is survived by her husband T. Bruce Alder of Preston; three sons and one daughter, Kraig (Ronda) Alder, Glenn (Dylynn) Alder, Kelle (Sondra) Alder and Katherine Alder, all of Preston; 10 grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ruby Alder of Preston; and two brothers and three sisters, Lester (Roene) Barfuss of Bancroft, Idaho, Isabel (Roger) Griffeth of Franklin, Idaho, Rhea (Terry) Bell of Pocatello, Idaho, LaRene (Bob) Grover of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and Von Barfuss of Pocatello, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her son Curtis Alder, parents, sister Jan Schmitt and brother Kim Barfuss.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in the Whitney 2nd Ward chapel, 1444 S. 1600 East in Preston, Idaho. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
