Robert E. Barry 78, of Donaldson, passed away Monday in Laurel Highland, Somerset.
Born in Donaldson, May 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Henry and Mabel Deiter Barry.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Robert was a miner and then worked as an inspector at Guilford Mills in Pine Grove for 30 years.
He was a member of the Donaldson United Methodist Church.
Robert loved to hunt and fish.
Preceding him in death were four sisters and seven brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Helen Mae Snyder Barry; two sons, Robert John Barry, Valley View, and Dale Henry Barry, Tremont; a daughter, Karen Lynn, wife of Shawn Price, Frackville; three grandsons, Jason Yoder, Robert Barry Jr. and Cody Price; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Jean Barry Donaldson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. with Dr. Ira Lydic officiating. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Donaldson Cemetery, Donaldson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road Suite 200, Wormleysburg, PA 17043, in his memory.
