Evelyn was born in Snyder, Texas, to the late Grant and Myrtle Townsend. Her family moved to Killeen when Evelyn was a few months old. At age 13, she moved to Florence, Texas, with her family, where she soon met her future husband, Craig Davis, of Andice, Texas. They were married on July 3, 1959 in Belton. Her priorities were God first and family second. Love for God and man kept a smile on her face and a song on her lips. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple pastored by Bro. Mike Lewis and hosted many many family gatherings. She was a devoted school teacher in the first and second grades for many years at the Birdville Independent School District where she ministered to all her students, their parents and her coworkers.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kirby Glenn Davis; and granddaughters, Allison and Ashley Karbula.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Davis, of Little River; son, Michael Davis, of Dallas; daughter, Tracy Karbula, of Little River; grandchildren, Grant Davis, Corrina Charlton, Joshua Karbula, and Katherine Jo Martin Karbula; great-grandchildren, Aiden Davis and Alanna Charlton; brothers, Grant Townsend, of Payette, Idaho, Curtis Townsend, of Jarrell, Texas, and Johnny Townsend, of Florence, TX; sister, Rena Katherine Caldwell, of Bastrop, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends.
