Kevin Thomson passed away at his home on May 10, 2010, from multiple health issues, including many years of quadriplegia.

He was best known as the bass player for the pioneering CCM group Sweet Comfort Band.

His playing was often compared to that of John Entwistle, legendary bassist for the British rock band The Who. Thomson was also called the Christian "Ox", Ox being the nickname Entwistle was known by.

Kevin's whole life was consumed with sharing the love that he daily experienced with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would be the one who would give his testimony on stage in concert and ask if there was anyone who wanted to accept Jesus into their hearts. His words and caring touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands in concerts worldwide.

While on a trip, Thomson was unlocking the trunk of his car and discovered he couldn't turn the key. He managed to drag himself to the cab of the car and honk the horn until his wife found him on the ground. Tests eventually revealed that he had suffered a catastrophic collapse of his spine and the result was quadriplegia.
