LELAND (COOKIE) MOORE ADCOCK, SR, age 76, passed away from this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ October 22, 2012 at his home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 4, 1936 in Christiana, TN, to the late Bessie Boyd Moore Adcock and Clyde Felix Adcock, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel with Chuck Myers officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Adcock is survived by his wife Evelyn Johnson Adcock; children, Leland (Candy) Adcock, Jr, Brigida Gail Adcock Newberry, and Michelle (August) Pendergrass; grandchildren, Jamie Adcock, Brian Cooper, Ashley Adcock, Tyler Adcock, Zachary McAnally, Adam McAnally, Tyson Cope, Amanda Newberry, Ashlyn Newberry, and Kiana Pendergrass; daughter in law, Lisa McAnally; two brothers Jimmy and Randy Adcock, and seven sisters Dorothy Fann, June (Dwight) Gale, Rhetta Clark, Patsy Bebout, Mary King,Martha( Larry) Smotherman, Kitty Westbrooks, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff McAnally, and four brothers, Paul, Dolittle, Charlie and Clyde Jr. Adcock.

Mr. Adcock was a mechanic and welder for Hurst Construction Company,a mechanic for the Marty Robbins Racing Team, a civil defense volunteer for the Kittrell Community, a mechanic for the Kittrell Volunteer Fire Dept., a licensed ham radio operator, and was a general jack of all trades. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, metal detecting, playing guitar, gardening, building and flying radio controlled airplanes, fishing, and gun collecting.
