James Lee Shipman, aged 28, died Wednesday at his home, 27 Meek Avenue. Among the survivors are his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Frank Shipman, 27 Meek Avenue.; a brother, Raymond, same address; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Cady, Mrs. William Workman and Mrs. James Norris, all of Columbus. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 P.m. at the residence. Burial at Memorial Park (Note- now called Sunset Cemetery)in charge of Leach and Sylh.

While we are not sure if James actually died at home... we would hope so (please see website below for a historical account of the fire)... at least we know James was not interred in a mass grave, or an unknown grave as so many others were!
He also has an individualized death certificate, which shows a Dr. in attendance and who signed his certificate.

Incarcerated about 1929 for Robbery and received 10 - 25 yrs in the Ohio State Penitentiary, Columbus, Franklin, Ohio. However he served less than a year before a fire (a quite famous/infamous fire) broke out at the prison and he died of "Conflagration" or buring to death.
