Arden Jorgensen, age 80, of Newell, Iowa died October 23, 2012 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Arden Ivan Jorgensen was born on September 10, 1932 in Newell, Iowa the son of Ingvard and Molly (Carstensen) Jorgensen. He grew up in the Newell area and graduated from Newell High School in 1950. Following high school, he served with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1954, he attended the University of Minnesota and St. Paul Bible College. Following college, he returned to Newell where he farmed until his retirement.

On March 8, 1969, he was united in marriage to Ann Ramaker Mason in Harlan, Iowa.

Arden accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, followed Him in baptism, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. He served as a deacon and moderator for many years and also sang in the church choir.

He served as a Coon Township Trustee and also served on the Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of the Newell American Legion.

Arden enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, and playing pool. He was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Arden treasured his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Ann Jorgensen of Newell, Iowa; stepchildren: Gail (Tim) Moore of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Bill Mason (friend, Vicki Ulven) of Storm Lake, Iowa; step grandchildren: Adam (Anna) Mason of Des Moines, Iowa; Jeff (Heidi) Mason of Chicago, Illinois; Lindsey (Neil) Davis of St. Paul, Minnesota; Heather (Jason) Halfen of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Brooke Moore (Matt Brown) of Cambridge, Massachusetts; step great grandchildren: Caroline, Andrew, Emily, and Catherine Halfen; sisters: Dorothy Kahl of West Des Moines, Iowa; Ruth Francis of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Steven (Carolyn) Ramaker of Rochester, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Grace Jorgensen of Newell, Iowa; Lee Neff of Fresno, California; special family friend, Dianna Mason; many nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.

Arden was preceded in death by his parents, Ingvard and Molly Jorgensen; father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Helen Ramaker; brothers: Harold Jorgensen and in infancy, Lowell Jorgensen; sisters: Verna Halverson and Grace Schesvold; brothers-in-law: Eugene Kahl; Truman Halverson; and Robert Neff.
