Sister M. Marcellinus Van Laar Hoven, 71, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc,
died Saturday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Convent
Chapel. The Rev. Ferdinand Dupont, O. Praem, will officiate and burial will
be in the convent cemetery.
Sister Marcellinus, nee Elizabeth Van Laar Hoven, was born March 18, 1907,
at Maergestel(sic..Moergestel), Holland, daughter of the late Peter and Christine Ver Ouden
Van Laar Hoven. She entered the Order of Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Society Sept. 15, 1921 and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1924. She served as
a homemaker at Marinette, Cooperstown, Hollandtown, Rhinelander, Sacred
Heart Seminary, Antigo, Oshkosh, Appleton, Kaukauna and Holy Family Hospital.
Survivors include five brothers, George, of Two Rivers, Peter, of Escanaba,
Mich., Christian, of Pound, Adrian, of Lena and Willian, of Milwaukee; five
sisters, Mrs. Leo Santkuyl, of Kimberley, Mrs. Hattie Rysewyk, of Kohlman,
Mrs. Louis Brusky, of Two Rivers, Mrs. Mark Pholenhauer, of Marinette and
Mrs. Joseph Glass, of Wind Lake.
Friends may call at the convent from 2 to 9 o'clock this Monday evening until
the time of service Tuesday.

Famiy came to America 14th March, 1914 and settled in Kimberly, Wisconsin.
