Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Convent, Rt. 5,
Manitowoc, with the Rev. Julian Resch, O. Praem, officiating and a nephew,
Deacon Richard Pettey, homilist. Burial will be in the convent cemetery.
Sister Theophane, nee Catherine Tompitch, was born Sept. 1, 1907, at Milwaukee,
daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Sinkovitz Tompitch. She entered the
convent in 1926 and professed her vows in 1929. She had been a teacher and
parish organist at St. Mary of Kaukauna, Petosi, Kiel, Neopit, St. Philip of
Green Bay, Reedsville, Seymour, Sawyer and Sacred Heart and St. Andrew of
Manitowoc. She had also been a teacher at St. Pius of Appleton and St. Gabriel
of Neenah and was the accountant at Azanam Home of New Berlin.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Tompitch, and two sisters, Mrs. William
(Elizabeth) Schippe and Mrs. Victor (Mary Jane) Schipp, of Waukesha. Three
sisters, Sister Venard, Mrs. Frances Deck and Mrs. Dorothy Pettey, preceded
her in death.
Friends may call at the convent from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday until the
time of services. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of local
arrangements.
