Decon of Oakhaven Baptist Church.
Retired from REA Express.
Navy Veteran of WWII.
His favorite sports were Quail hunting and fishing. He taught his son Ronnie to Quail hunt and they spent many hours together with their bird dogs on the trail of the little birds.
He loved fishing so much that he and Catherine had a summer home on Sardis Lake. They spent many weekends there in warm weather before retiring.
Haywood and Catherine were the parents of 2 sons, Haywood Jr. & Ronnie, 2 grand sons, Woody & John Wesley and 2 grand daughters, Katie & Kristie. Sadly he did not live to see his 8 great grand children.
