SOUTH BEND - Marjorie J. "Cauffman" Minarik, 90, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 11:05 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012, in Memorial Hospital. Marjorie was born on June 1, 1922, in Leiters Ford, Fulton County, IN, to Norvannah M. and Lillian Marie (Barnhart) Alber.

She had been employed as a beautician for 62 years. Marjorie worked at the "Beauty Salon" in Mishawaka after graduating from Beauty School. She then moved to Maryland while her husband was in the military and worked as a beautician on the military base. She then moved to New Carlisle, IN, and operated her own beauty shop at home and worked at both Hamilton Grove and Miller's Merry Manor.

On August 15, 1943, she married Russell Cauffman, who died on Oct. 6, 1972. Then on June 18, 1977, she married George J. Minarik, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2012. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Norvannah M. Alber Jr., who died at birth, and Ramon Alber; and one great-grandson, Dustin Cauffman.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Norva (Rober Sabaj) Cauffman of South Bend, IN, and Sally Stypczynski of Columbia, SC; 4 sons, Edward (Diane) Cauffman of AZ, Jon (Judy) Cauffman of South Bend, IN, William (Jackie) Cauffman of New Carlisle, IN, and Rory (Connie) Cauffman of Ft. Wayne, IN; 30 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren & many great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Addison (Nita) Alber of Chandler, AZ, Wayne (Mary) Alber of Rochester, IN, Dick (Jean) Alber of Rochester, IN, Larry (Sharon) Alber of Brookville, OH, and Phillip Alber of Fort Wayne, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m., Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 on Friday in the funeral home. Marjorie was a member of TOPS IN #813 New Carlisle since 1968; War Mothers of New Carlisle; and the American Legion Post #50 Women's Auxiliary.
