Burson - "Death of Stroud Burson. Mr. Stroud Burson died at his home on Center Street on Tuesday morning, after a brief illness, aged 75 years, 3 months and 19 days. He was born in Stroud township, July 28, 1816, and was a farmer by occupation for a number of years, residing on a farm which is now a part of East Stroudsburg. Several years ago he gave up farming and moved to this place where he has spent most of his time until within the last few years his winters have been spent in Florida, where he was interested in land. He has been a member of the M. E. Church for upwards of forty years and the greater part of the time an officer in the church. Mr. Burson was a good financier, careful and prudent with his investments and had accumulated a neat sum of money. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and brother, L. M. Burson, being the only surviving member of a family of nine. Interment in the Stroudsburg Cemetery."
