Sister Laura Thompson, age 88, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Charity of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at Holy
Family convent.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Holy Family
Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D.
Jadin, O.Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 (TODAY) at Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m Monday (TODAY).
The Pfeffer Funeral Home is assiting with funeral arrangements.

Sister Laura Thompson, age 88, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday, Feb.
8, 2002 at Holy Family Convent.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Holy
Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will
be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family
Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She as born Lucy Thompson on Nov. 12, 1913 in Harbor Springs, Mich.,
daughter of the late George and Catherine Cruise Thompson. Sister Laura
entered the Convent in 1932 and professed her vows in 1935. She served
as a homemaker at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc; St. Joseph and St.
William, Waukesha; St. Anthony, Oconto Falls; St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay;
St. Therese, Appleton; Silver Lake College, Manitowoc; Sacred Heart
Seminary, Oneida; Holy Family Conservatory, Manitowoc; St. Mary
Delaware, St. Benedict, Cambridge, OH; St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill.;
and Immaculate Conception, Yuma, Ariz.
After her retirement from active ministry, she performed various
services at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, and San Damiano Convent,
Slinger. Since 1996, she has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center
in the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a
sister-in-law, Leaneda Thompson, Redford, Mich.; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends also survive.
