Mr. Wells retired in 1982 as a sales supervisor for Witco Co., Indianapolis, and moved to Sarasota in 1988.
He was a member of Carmel Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and First Christian Church in Sarasota. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Monon to Luther and Bertha Wells.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; a son, Ralph of Bradenton, Fla.; three sisters, Maxine Frey, Marie Astolfi and Eva Cassell, all of Frankfort; a brother, Ed of Frankfort; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held later in Indianapolis.
