Kristy Ann Knox Jackson, 52, passed from this life, October 16, 2012, in Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview, Texas, with her family at her side. She was born May 19, 1960 in Atlanta, Texas.

Kristy graduated from Atlanta High School, Atlanta, Texas, in 1978, where she played flute in the band. She attended Tyler Junior College Nursing School and completed the EMT course, passing her states boards with a high score. Because of health problems, she retired from University of Texas Health Center, Tyler.

Kristy loved life. She enjoyed her family and family get-togethers. In her younger life she worshipped God at the Atlanta Church of Christ, in recent years at the First Baptist Church, Henderson, Texas. She loved nature and God's creatures, and was especially fond of her dog, Max. Kristy always enjoyed a good book and cooking for her family and friends. Her chicken and dumplings as well as her sweet potato and buttermilk pies were the best. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and always delighted in playing wheel of fortune with her dad and brother. Kristy never hesitated to help others throughout her life. Until her health failed her, she was a volunteer at the Henderson Health and Rehab Center.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, H. O. and Estelle Taylor and her paternal grandparents, Jim and Olean Knox.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Jackson, and daughter, Emma Ann Jackson of Henderson, Texas; her parents James and Molly Knox of Atlanta, Texas; one sister, Jill Williams, of St. Petersburg, Florida; one brother and wife, Robert and Carol Knox of Richardson, Texas; one special step-son, Tracey Fortman; nieces, Jennifer Knox, Katherine Knox, and Emily Knox; nephews, Bobby Hudson, Robert Taylor Knox, and Dylan Williams; sister-in-law and husband, Alice and Ronnie Hinkle of White Oak, Texas, nieces, Lindsey McClung and husband Lane, and Jessica Purifoy and husband, JonMark. A special cousin, Jeff Gill of Clarksville, Arkansas, and aunts and uncles who loved her dearly, and many other relatives and friends.
