Mr. John Wesley Adkins of Pendleton, Kentucky, son of the late Ezra Adkins and Gertrude Tucker Adkins, was born on January 3, 1941 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Tri-County Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange. He was 69 years, six months and one day of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Sligo Baptist Church. He was also a retired Quality Assurance Manager and Engineer and a self-employed Woodcrafter. Mr. Adkins was also a veteran having served in the United States Air Force prior to the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54, the Zackary Taylor Lodge and a lifetime member of the NRA. He united in marriage to Patricia Darnell on September 24, 1964 who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter: a son: a grandson: a sister: and a host of other relatives and friends. The family has requested cremation and there will be a memorial service at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
The will be a memorial visitation from 12:00 Noon until time of the memorial service at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
