Former Beaver City resident, 84

ARVADA, Colo. - Rouene M. Mayo, 84, of Arvada, formerly of Beaver City, Neb., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at her home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City with the Rev. Keith Theobald officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

She was born Aug. 20, 1928, at Geneva, Neb., to Fred and Nellie (Saltzman) Marble.

On June 12, 1947, she married Harold Mayo at McCook, Neb. He died Jan. 23, 2006.

Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca and Charlotte Mayo, both of Wheat Ridge; brother, Ronald Marble and his wife, Ila, of Norton, Kan.; and sisters, Delores White of Lexington, Neb., Roberta Martin and her husband, Richard, of Beaver City and Vernita Bottger and her husband, Corky, of Tekamah, Neb.

Rouene grew up in Furnas County, Neb. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1946.

She and Harold lived in McCook for 11 years following their marriage. They moved to Arvada in 1959 where she resided until her death. She was a certified ceramics teacher. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and scroll saw work, rocks and all crafty things.
