Charles P. "Chad" Aldinger, 72, of Chicora, Pa., who has relatives in Lawrence County, died March 27, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Butler. Born April 12, 1927, he was a son of Paul and Dorothy Barnhart Aldinger.

He married the former Marie "Mary" Sziszurok on Aug. 2, 1947. She survives.
Mr. Aldinger, of 1024 Gameland Road, was a stationary engineer in the boiler house at the Butler VA Medical Center. He retired in 1983 after more than 37 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Butler.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chicora.
Mr. Aldinger belonged to the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Club Inc., the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club, Fenelton, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Susan Marie) McElravy of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Terence (Kathy) Seeman of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. March 28 and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. March 29 at the Steighner Funeral Home, Chicora. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. March 29 at the funeral home. The Rev. Virgil Wittenberg, interim pastor of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
