Dorothy L. Smith wier, 89, of Medina, passed away on October 21, 2012 in bandera. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Henry Lee and Dorothy A. Smith on August 11, 1923. She married Orville Glynn Wier on March 16, 1940 in Medina.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Medina Chapter #988, for 50 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Medina. She worked for Hill Country Telephone Co-op for 38 years and was a secretary for Medina Water Supply Corporation.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Milton Smith, and sister, Etta Smith.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sue Keiser and husband Neal of Medina, along with her grandson, Chris Keiser and wife Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Justin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 25 at First Baptist church in Medina. Burial will follow at Oak Rest Cememtery in Medina.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Medina and/or Gideons International at www.gideons.org.
