SCHENECTADY Robin L. Hackett, 46, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at her home in Schenectady surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, Robin is the daughter of Sally Lewis Farrell and the late Glenn C. Hackett. A graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, Robin received her bachelors degree from Hartwick College and also attended Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Robin worked as a chemist for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and also the NYS Department of Health for the past 19 years. Robin was a member of the congregation at Burnt Hills Baptist Church, the Schenectady Civic Players and the Society for Creative Anachronism. Robin is the beloved daughter of Sally (Lewis) Farrell of Clifton Park, the late Glenn C. Hackett and beloved step-daughter of the late Ted Farrell. Besides her mother, Robin is survived by long-time companion, Thomas R. Justin II of Schenectady; her siblings, Glenn "Curt" Hackett Jr. (Laurie) of Bristow, Va., Wendy S. Hackett of Orlando, Fla., Laurie A. Begnaud (Andre') of Schenectady and Christopher R. Farrell of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Carolynn Hackett, Benjamin Hackett, Rene' Begnaud and Cassandra Begnaud. A visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. A memorial service for Robin will be held Wednesday, October 24 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, Inurnment will take place at Vale Cemetery in Schenectady. A reception will follow at Schenectady Civic Players, 12 S. Church Street, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robin's name can be made to the Schenectady Civic Players, 12 S. Church Street, Schenectady, NY 12305, the Burnt Hills Baptist Church, 193 Kingsley Rd., Burnt Hills, NY 12027 or to Community Hospice 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
