OKLAHOMA CITY Jacquelyn "Jackie" Eva High Bowman was born July 25, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and went to be with her Lord June 21, 2012.
She is survived by Robert L. "Bob," her husband of 63 years; her three children, Robi, John, and Brooks; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, and Bianca; her sister, Marilyn Vaughn; and her daughter-in-law, Leigh Taylor Bowman.
Jackie was brought up in Oklahoma City, where she was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She graduated from Oklahoma City's Classen High School in 1948.
Jackie was known for her service to and for others. She founded and served as president of the Cypress Fairbanks Volunteer Fire Department, established her own Secretarial Service Company, and became president of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce, and later the Houston West Chamber of Commerce. She was also civic and politically involved throughout her lifetime. In 2005, she became president of the Residents Association at Epworth Villa. In 2008, she won Epworth Villa's Resident Award for the BEST SMILE.
Her final year was spent in the Health Care section of Epworth.
Memorial services will be held at Epworth Villa on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 4:00 p.m.
