George V. Adams, 78, Blue Rapids, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Regency Nursing, Marysville.A service was Aug. 4 at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Marysville, with the Rev. Don Yancheson officiating.

Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, southwest of
Frankfort, Kansas.

Pallbearers were Frank Kanive, Jesse Little, Matt Woods, Jason Creevan, Richard Padgett and Jeremiah Arnold.

George Adams was born July 1, 1927, at Wichita, the son of William and Lila Black Adams.He joined the circus as a young man and spent more than 23 years working for Ringling Bros. Circus, caring for the animals. He appreared in the movie "Ring of Fire" about the Ringling circus.His later years were spent working on a dairy farm. He has lived in Blue Rapids since his retirement a few years ago.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Wilber, and four sisters, Opal and Orba Adams, May Arnold and Roseabell Kanive.Survivors include four sisters, Kay Ruckels, Muscatina, Iowa, Ruth Peters, Bondurant, Iowa, Evelyn Crisp, Murphy, N.C., and Flo Smith, Blue Rapids; and one brother, Leonard Adams, Sedan
