French Watson Pair, 68, a retired building engineer, died May 21, 1990, in a Tappahannock hospital.

Mr. Pair, a native of Birmingham, Ala., had retired from Sovran Bank. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Pair of Virginia Beach; five daughters, Michaelene Sawyer of Montpelier, Va., Giner Pair of Florence, S.C., Stephanie Pair and Robin Kern, both of Virginia Beach, and Mindy Peach of Norfolk; a son, Stephen Pair of Warsaw; two sisters, Alice Allen and Nellie Dochery, and a brother, Wardner Pair, all of Birmingham; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted May 23 in T.D. Marks Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Slater. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery . Memorial donations may be made to Richmond County Rescue Squad, Warsaw, Va. 22572.
