Roswell Walworth Bourne, who was usually dropped Roswell and was known by his middle name.

Walworth spent his youth in Pitcher Springs before moving with his parents to Cincinnatus. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the 157th infantry. He fought at Chancellorseville and Gettysburg, where he was captured. He spent time at Belle Island prison camp, then rejoined the 157th for the remainder of the war. His reminisces are available as part of a book at the Cortland Historic Society.

After the war he settled in Willet. Like his father, he became a lawyer. He also served as county clerk and town supervisor.

His wife may have been Anna Eliza Bowen. (Daughter of Eliza Delavan and George Bowen?). Census records suggest 2 children: Roswell K. (~1870; settled in Groton), and Earl (~1875; remained in Willet; given name may have been Robert).
