Sister Rosalita Sromovsky, 79, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, June 24, 1988 at the Appleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Julian C. Resch, O. Praem, and burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Sister Rosalita was born November 24, 1908 at Lesnica, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Albert and Caroline Barnes Sromovsky. She entered the convent in 1922 and professed her vows in 1927. Sister Rosalita earned a B.A. Degree from St. Norbert College and a M.A. Degree from Marquette University. She taught at St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, Wisconsin; St. Augustine, Chilton, Wisconsin; Holy Family, Lindsay, Nebraska; Guardian Angels, West Point, Nebraska; Cross Village, Minnesota; St. Therese, Appleton, Wisconsin; St. Joseph, Rice Lake, Wisconsin; and Xavier High School, Appleton, Wisconsin. Since December, 1985 she has been residing at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Dr. Andrew and Dorothy Sromovsky of Wausaukee, Wisconsin, and Margaret Sromovsky of Two Rivers and two sisters, Sister Rosaleen Sromovsky of Menominee, Mich., and Margaret Sromovsky of Wausaukee, Wisconsin.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, 4 pm to 8 pm Sunday where a prayer service will be at 7 pm at the Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
