Sister Othelia Skowronska, age 101, of the Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc, died Thursday, October 29, 1992, at the Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 3, 1992, at 10:30
a.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the
Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem. Burial will follow in the Holy Family
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Rose Skowronska was born November 18, 1890, in Cleveland,
Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Rose Muroski Skowronski. Sister
Othelia entered the Convent in 1908 and professed her vows in 1912. She
earned teaching credits from State Normal School, Oshkosh, and Holy
Family Normal and College, Manitowoc. Sister Othelia served as an
elementary teacher at Kaukauna, Sturgeon Bay, Algoma, Marinette, Ashton,
Oneida, Mackville, New Holstein, Green Bay, Wis,; Delaware, Zanesville
and Wellston, Ohio. Since her retirement from active ministry, she
resided at St. Agnes Convent, Green Bay, St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc
and St. Rita Health Center. She was a member of the Franciscan Sisters
of Christian Charity
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a sister,
Frances Horton, Trenton, N.J., a sister-in-law, Edna Lerch, Trenton,
N.J.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8
p.m., Monday, November 2, 1992. A memorial service will be held Monday
at 7 p.m. on the Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
